Location & Geography
The Flathead Valley is located in northwestern Montana. Flathead County has a population of approximately 86,000 people, in an area of about 5200 square miles.
The elevation of the valley floor is approximately 3000 ft. Surrounding the valley are the Swan Mountains to the east, the Whitefish Mountains to the north, and the Salish Mountains to the west. The valley offers great panoramic views of surrounding mountains and lakes. No matter where you are in the valley, you’re guaranteed a fantastic view!

Climate
The area enjoys a relatively mild climate. Winter temperatures are generally in the 30s, with a few colder days and a few warmer days. Summer temperatures generally range from the mid 70s to the mid 90s. Fall days offer warm days and crisp nights.
Spring and summer offer long daylight hours, with approximately 16 hours of daylight in June and July.

Glacier International Airport
Commercial flights are available through Glacier International Airport, located just 7 miles north of Kalispell.

Amtrack is located in Whitefish, about 15 miles north of Kalispell.
