Location & GeographyThe Flathead Valley is located in northwestern Montana. Flathead County has a population of approximately 86,000 people, in an area of about 5200 square miles.The elevation of the valley floor is approximately 3000 ft. Surrounding the valley are the Swan Mountains to the east, the Whitefish Mountains to the north, and the Salish Mountains to the west. ClimateThe area enjoys a relatively mild climate. Winter temperatures are generally in the 30s, with a few colder days and a few warmer days. Summer temperatures generally range from the mid 70s to the mid 90s.
